Alan Greenberg is a seasoned investor, developer, and manager of residential real estate, with a passion for incorporating technology and sustainability into his developments. He is actively developing rental apartment communities, primarily in the Midwestern US (through his 50% ownership of City Club Apartments LLC) and the Greater Toronto Area/Greater Edmonton Area (through his 100% ownership of Streamliner Properties).
Alan co-founded and is co-chairman of City Club Apartments LLC, which develops, owns, and manages apartment rentals throughout the Midwest in the United States. CCA presently has 1200 apartment suites under construction/lease up with another five projects under development. Streamliner Properties is developing Gallery Walk Residences in Edmonton and 9/25 Dawes and 2323 & 2345 Yonge Street in Toronto, and is also pursuing several other opportunities in the Greater Toronto Area.
Alan spent almost 30 years in progressively senior positions with the Minto Group of Companies, a second-generation family real estate business. He finished his operational career as President and COO of MintoUrban Communities Inc., which focused on high-rise condominium development and residential rentals in Toronto and Ottawa. Under his leadership, Minto became and industry leader in urban design, one of the leading green residential developers in North America, and a leading residential rental property manager in Canada.
During his time at Minto, Alan was actively involved in the successful creation of thouands of residential apartments and high-rise condos, as well as several low-rise single-family-home communities.
Alan is the co-founder and Chairman of GreenSoil Investments, a venture capital firm that invests in companies that enable smart and efficient utilization of resources in two distinct verticals—real estate technology and agriculture/food technology. GreenSoil has 5 startups in its food/ag tech portfolio and 10 early-growth companies in its PropTech portfolio.
Alan also co-founded Your Music Memory, a world-class collection of unique, iconic rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia focusing on the art of the album cover.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Economics from the University of Toronto, and has volunteered for many philanthropic and industry organizations. He presently sits on the Board of Directors of The Association for Soldiers of Israel and is a Director Emeritus of the Siminovitch Prize. He is a director on the following corporate boards: BridgeGreen Capital (Canada), Goby Inc. (USA), ElectrIQ Power (USA), and Inagene Diagnostics (Canada).
